We are always excited to meet potential lab members with an interest in evolutionary genomics! Please reach out if you are interested or have questions: ekopania[at]fsu[dot]edu. See below for current opportunities.

Laboratory Assistant - We are seeking a laboratory assistant to start as soon as possible. The successful applicant will perform molecular laboratory experiments, help with lab setup and upkeep, and help set up and maintain our fish facility. See the FSU job board for details (job ID 63644).

Graduate Students - We are recruiting graduate students to start in Fall 2027. Our current focus is the evolution of the retina in fishes, and students will have opportunities to develop their own projects in this area. Interested candidates should email ekopania[at]fsu[dot]edu with a CV and a brief summary of research interests. The graduate program application deadline is December 1st, but please reach out well before then because I will meet with candidates via zoom before the deadline. I will be taking students through FSU's Ecology and Evolution graduate program, a vibrant and collaborative community with strengths across several areas of ecology and evolution.

We are excited to be part of the Ecology and Evolution community within the Department of Biological Science at Florida State University. We interact with colleagues with expertise in genomics, sensory biology, and fish biology through our department and the Coastal and Marine Lab. We are located in Tallahassee, Florida's capital city in a region of rich biodiversity.
