I strongly believe that it is important to diversify the scientific community by creating an inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds. Outreach is one of many ways to help create opportunities for all to participate in science. I also believe it is important to communicate the value of science to the general public.

Below is a list of some outreach and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) organizations I have participated in.

  1. University of Utah Department of Human Genetics Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee
  2. University of Montana SACNAS Chapter
  3. We Are Montana in the Classroom
  4. SpectrUM
  5. University of Montana Women in Science
  6. USC Science Outreach (SCout)

This is a (non-exhaustive!) list of resources and organizations helping to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in science. I am always interested in learning more about organizations promoting DEI in STEM, so feel free to get in touch with me about this topic!

  1. DiversifyEEB
  2. 500 Queer Scientists
  3. 500 Women Scientists
  4. SACNAS
  5. Black AF in Stem
